Bauhaus inspired exhibition in Berlin

June 2022 | Belinda Lubkoll

We are excited that our manufacturing jeweller Belinda Lubkoll has been chosen to exhibit and work alongside master jeweller Claudia Baetge in Berlin this September!

.  From 2nd to the 13th of September at Claudia Baetge’ s Goldsmith studio and gallery in Woerther Strasse 17 Berlin Prenzlauer Berg.

The opening exhibition is on the 2nd of September at 6pm to 10pm

Originally from Berlin, Belinda moved to New Zealand 13 years ago. Arriving just with a backpack as a holiday maker, her story started when she set foot into our goldsmith studio. 13 years on, she is still working for us and has been designing her own collections and one-off designs for her clients as a qualified jeweller. Architecture has always been an inspiration for her. Wandering through vast range of historic buildings paired with new and modern designs has left an impression as an artist.  Her jewellery works with the concept that a straight line needs a curve to be balanced out. Choosing a non-commercial stone setting, something that is not predicted but has a clean line. The minimalistic Bauhaus movement is clearly reflected in her work. Vibrant primary colours of her gemstones used like Swiss blue topaz, sun yellow citrine and blood red garnet. Some of her one-off pieces include a large tourmaline split ring design and hand soldered raster of rings with elements of copper, gold and gems.

For the first time New Zealand was allowed to enter in the category 1 &2nd year apprentice/ student awards at the Sydney international design awards in August 2019.

Belinda did not just enter for the first time but while visiting her hometown Berlin and working alongside Claudia Baetge.

She became finalist with her Bauhaus inspired ring design in sterling silver. A flowing ring band holding a square topaz that is slightly offset.

Now she has been invited back to the same goldsmith studio and to display her since then growing collection of Bauhaus inspired designs.
Claudia a well-known master jeweller, who has taken part in international competitions successfully herself will display Belinda’s work alongside her collections inspired by her own travels.
