Bauhaus Inspired for the Jewellery Art Awards - Belinda Lubkoll

August 2021 | Belinda Lubkoll

Entering my first piece of jewellery to an international competition has been a great experience. Not just taking the step to decide that what you have created in your workshop is worth selling to your clients but has what it takes to be judged by a group of experts is daunting.
The more we were over the moon to learn that my topaz ring made it as a finalist at this year’s Jewellery design awards in Sydney.
“Bauhaus inspired”
Sterling silver square ring design with a set topaz.
Germany, my home country and birth place of the Bauhaus movement have been inspiration for me throughout my life. The minimalistic architecture of building blocks in the eastern parts of Berlin and contemporary approach to translate art into furniture have always fascinated me.
The topaz is slightly off-set, just enough to be annoying and difficult.
Berlin has celebrated 100 years of Bauhaus this year.
